Chapter 3
"Michael, please don't go," July pleads impulsively.
"Why?" Michael asks anxiously.
"I can't stay alone";
"I am afraid" July informs sadly and Michael clears his throat nervously.
"Okay" Michael nods his head slowly with an awkward smile.
The next morning, Michael sits inside his car patiently waiting for July as soon as she comes out from the building, he presses the horn button thus she turns anxiously to his direction.
"Michael" July calls nervously with a smile and enters the car while he starts the engine.
"Did you have a good sleep?" Michael asks politely and July nods shyly, he smirks.
"Where – do you work?" July stutters nervously.
"I don't bite";
"You know" Michael teases and July laughs softly.
"I am a doctor";
"I work at Harvard hospital" Michael informs courageously as she nods her head facing the window sadly.
"The city is huge";
"Will I ever make it?" July mutters sadly to herself and Michael extends his right hand touching July's left hand on her lap softly, she shivers nervously turning to his direction.
"Everything will be fine"
"I am with you" Michael said impulsively in a low tone with a cute smile and July nods her head nervously as hot blush flusters on her cheeks.
"We are here" Michael informs politely as he stops the engine.
"Thanks for the ride"
"See you later" July highlights from the car happily and approaches T's coffee shop that is already full with customers.
"You came" Rachael smiles brightly as she sees a glimpse of Michael's car leaving.
"I can't turn you down" July sits on the long stool close to the counter, Rachael serves her a cup of coffee smiling.
"How did you get here without an address?" Rachael asks anxiously.
"That?"
"Michael drove me," July said happily as she drank the coffee while Rachael nodded her head slowly.
"Michael"
"You two ---?" Rachael stares at July mischievously, July smirks.
"You and Michael are the only friend I have in this city"
"He is just being kind to me, nothing more," July explains bluntly with a wink.
"Don't mind me" Rachael rattles out slyly.
"Michael is my ex-boyfriend" Rachael informs sadly with a small beam.
"Why do you care if he hangs out with other ladies?" July asks anxiously, Rachael clears her throat awkwardly.
"You still love him, right?" July asks bluntly with a sad facial expression.
"One coffee and a bagel please" a customer informs politely while she caresses the hair of her pet cat, July faces her with a smile while Rachael prepares the order.
"Lovely pet" July compliments and the cat immediately clung onto July's sleeve, she smirks while the owner gazes in astonishment.
"My cat doesn't welcome stranger" the customer shakes her head in disbelief and July smiles while caressing the lovely cat, Rachael sighs irritated.
"Here is your order" Rachael informs politely handing the package to the customer, the customer receives it smiling.
"Before you go" Rachael calls back thus the lady pauses at a distance and faces backward.
"Animals are not allowed here" Rachael snorts vividly, the lady storms out of the shop angrily, Rachael rolls her eyes annoyingly.
"What was that?" July asks anxiously.
"I was informing her of the rules" Rachael said annoyingly with a tough smile.
"Rach, I will go get busy"
"See you soon" July stands up from the long stool sadly.
"Julie, sorry for the poor reception" Rachael pleads sadly as July nods with a small smile.
"See you" July waves nervously as she leaves the shop.
"Urgh!"
"Was that jealousy?"
"Stop it Chael"
Rachael scolds herself awkwardly as she watches July leave the café.
"Mr. Thompson, we are sorry the position you seek for is unavailable" a hoarse voice comes out from the phone speaker.
"Thank you" Thompson nods sadly as he hangs up the call while Sarah walks into the living room.
"Honey, any progress?" Sarah asks sadly.
"None yet" Thompson exhales sadly as he scrolls his phone anxiously.
"I will be sending the last saving to July"
"Hope she stays well" Sarah informs politely as she sadly stands up from the armchair.
"Sweetheart" Thompson calls softly and Sarah pauses at a spot.
"Thank you" Thomson said delightfully, Sarah nods her head slowly and leaves to the room.
July and Michael rolls the cart slowly while purchasing provisions and necessities, it is a very large supermarket.
"July, what are your plans?"
"I guess you don't want to remain jobless" Michael asks anxiously with a tough smile.
"Yeah, I am planning on starting up something," July informs nervously.
"Can I hear the plan?" Michael asks sarcastically, making July nod her head sheepishly.
"I want to open a pet store" July said bluntly and Michael clears his throat nervously.
"Pet store..." Michael said cryptically with a curious stare.
"I want to take care of sick animals" July tries to explain further confidently.
"It's a pet clinic not a pet store" Michael informs critically in a polite tone and she nods happily.
Michael and July drop their packages on the counter while the cashier places each of the products on the screen of the computer sorting out the bills.
"How do you plan on starting?" Michael asks anxiously in a low tone.
"Your bills" the cashier gives Michael the slip, July insists on paying her bill but Michael was persistent thus he deliberately paid the bills and they walk out of the supermarket to the car park with their packages in the customized bags.
"I will rent a big shop and equip it" July said sarcastically and Michael smirks.
"Do you have the funds?" Michael asks politely starting the engine and July falls silent.
"I can help ... you know" Michael said nervously and July smiled.
"Thanks for your kindness Mich" July appraises politely with a pause.
"When it comes to my future plan, I demand assistance from no stranger" July said randomly with all confidence facing the window while Michael drives the car nodding his head slowly.
"Pet clinic!" Rachael exclaims loudly laughing mockingly as she walks on the busy street with July.
"Who cares about animals?" Rachael mocks sarcastically, July rolls her eyes annoyingly.
"Come work as a waitress bitch!" Rachael laughs loudly and July stops at a spot facing Rachael.
"Rach" July calls annoying and Rachael exhales.
"Alright bitch, are you fucking serious about this?" Rachael asks anxiously and July nods her head immediately.
"Come with me"
"There is a house for lease closer to commercial buildings" Rachael informs courageously holding July's hand softly.
A matured man of his late fifties stands in front of a transparent glassy building staring blankly as July and Rachael approaches him anxiously.
They exchange pleasantries and July briefly informs the man of her intention.
"You want to rent my building?" he asks anxiously.
"Yes sir. I want to start up a business here" July said politely and confidently while the man nodded his head slowly.
"Do you like the building?" the man asks capriciously.
"It has a large basement, spare room and large spaces"
"Yes, I like it" July said sassily with a smile.
"One thousand dollars for a year" the man said bluntly and July staggered in shock.
"One thousand dollars!" July and Rachael exclaims cowardly in unison.
"That's too much sir" July tries to negotiate.
While they were deliberating and negotiating on the price, an alert dropped into July's phone making her smile happily. July courageously accepts the rate at which the man needs for the bill, he calls his lawyer in hours July and Rachael signs on documents thus the house eventually turns into July's mortgage property.
July and Rachael walk out of the empty house.
