Chapter 10
"I'm now your third wheel right?" Rachael snorts annoyingly as she drops her hand bag on the table and sits down roughly on the chair.
"She abandoned you again?" Rachael mocks sarcastically taking the alcoholic champagne from the table.
"Is it a crime to fall in love?" Michael asks impulsively while drinking the wine gradually, Rachael smirks.
"I will soon be busy, so you better move on and find someone that will love you" Rachael informs vividly as she drinks the wine annoyingly, Michael laughs drunkenly and faces her direction.
"I ... I love July and she will be mine" Michael staggers standing up as he explains to Rachael stuttering, Rachael shakes her head in disbelief and continues drinking the wine sadly.
"Rachael, you keep coming to me anytime I call" Michael pauses as he clings unto the counter facing Rachael.
"Do you still love me and want ...?" Michael tries to ask Rachael drunkenly but Rachael interrupts him by placing her finger on his lips immediately with a flirtatious stare.
"Ha ha ha... I know you do" Michael laughs mockingly and staggers back to his chair.
"Sorry Michael. I don't eat what I have already junked for the second time" Rachael snorts annoyingly and stands up immediately from the chair.
"Rachael!" Michael grabs her hand standing up from the chair roughly with her.
"Let go!" Rachael commands angrily.
"What if ... I also love you ..." Michael tries to explain his lustful feelings toward Rachael but she smirks mockingly cutting him off.
"Never!" Rachael informs authoritatively as she pulls her hand strongly off his hold and leaves the club, Michael laughs loudly while staggering to the counter with the aim of taking another shot of the wine, he trips and fall to the ground roughly.
"Mich" Rachael runs in anxiously.
"Ma, is everything okay?" the bartender asks politely out of curiosity and Rachael nods her head apathetically as she takes out her phone to call the cab driver.
July carries two flat plates containing delicious meals as she places them perfectly on the dining table, Damien walks over to the dining room and takes his seat without saying a word.
July smirks as she heads back to the kitchen to bring in the last dish.
"You would have called" July said politely while taking her sit on the dinning seat.
"It isn't necessary" Damien snorts as he continues eating.
"What if I wasn't in the pet clinic?" July asks sarcastically as she starts eating.
"I have your house address" Damien said vividly without taking his eyes off the meal.
"What if I ..."
"Enough of the what ifs!'" Damien commands angrily and July immediately falls silent.
Due to fear July didn't start up any conversation till they finishing having supper.
Damien walks back to the living room minutes later and sits down on the couch turning on the television; July trails along as she sits on the long couch closer to him. They steal quick glances of each other and Damien clears his throat nervously each time.
"So... why are you here?" July asks fearfully after some minutes of silence.
"Nothing"
"I was bored" Damien replies vividly with his eyes attentively focusing on the television programme.
"You could have notified me to come over" July informs bluntly with a bright smile, Damien roll his eyes annoyingly.
"Should I come over tomorrow?" July asks enthusiastically with a sheepish grin.
"I will notify you then" Damien said politely as he stands up from the couch.
"Leaving already?" July asks sadly while standing up swiftly, Damien nods his head slowly in response.
July approaches him nervously planting a quick peg on his soft cheek almost covered with perfectly shaved side bears, a hot blush flusters on his cheek as he leaves her apartment awkwardly. July smirks in happiness.
The wide and spacious chief executive officer's office (CEO) decorated with expensive office inventories. The office also has the clear view of Rollan city, expensive large table with the chief executive officer's name printed on it.
Damien V. Gerber clicks on the mouse anxiously with his eyes focusing on the laptop, he attentively and carefully read the paperwork sent to his email on PDF format.
"Sir, Mrs. Victor Gerber is here" Damien's secretary informs politely through the door.
"Let her in" Damien responds immediately standing up from the comfortable chair and walking out from behind the table.
"Mother" Damien calls politely while embracing Mrs. Victor Gerber, she pats his back softly with a warm smile. Minutes later, Damien beacons his mother to sit on the empty long armchair while he takes his sit on the small cushion across her.
"How are you, Dam?" Mrs. Victor Gerber asks politely.
"I'm fine" Damien replies nervously with a small nod.
"What brings you here?" Damien asks quickly out of curiosity.
"The board directors urge you to marry investor Mart..."
"Mum" Damien interrupts her politely with a mischievous smile.
"I have already chosen a fiancée" Damien added confidently and his mother gazes at him in great astonishment.
"You must be kidding" Mrs. Victor Gerber asks apathetically with an anxious stare.
The mini-park in Rollan city, children with their parents run around the park playing on one kiddies' slides or the other.
July and Rachael walks on the grassy path together licking their chocolate ice cream while discussing, it was indeed a cool evening for fun.
"How will you deal with Tony?" July asks politely while they sit on the long block seat in the park.
"I don't know but he is a thorn on my flesh right now" Rachael complains sadly.
"What do you think?" Rachael asks in remorse.
"You are my friend Rach, whether rich or poor" July pauses and hold Rachael's hands softly with a bright smile, Rachael let out a small sad smile.
"If you feel like quitting, you can work with me at the clinic until whenever" July added courageously, Rachael nods her head sharply with a sheepish smile.
"Thank you so much Julie" Rachael said politely, July embraces Rachael tightly while sitting on the seat and Rachael chuckles nervously rubbing July's back slowly.
"How is your job going?" Rachael asks slyly after a brief moment of silence.
"It's going cool" July said confidently as hot blush flusters on her face.
"Hope you haven't fallen for him yet" Rachael asks with a mocking smirk.
"It's for the money Rach, nothing else" July defends herself awkwardly with a mischievous smile.
"How many months now...?" Rachael asks anxiously and July tries to think via calculating.
"It's about five months now" July said skeptically as she nods her head in certainty.
"Five months feels like yesterday" Rachael informs sarcastically, they laugh loudly in the park as their eyes turn down to their ice cream cape which was already dissolving.
July phone rings immediately she excuses herself and walks over to a distance.
"Hello babe" July calls lovingly.
"Where are you?" Damien asks anxiously over the phone.
"I'm at the park, should I come over?" July asks impatiently with an anxious grin.
"I will text you an address, meet me there tomorrow" Damien informs vividly.
"Have you eaten?" July tries to change the conversation impulsively.
"Don't be late" Damien snorts arrogantly.
"Dammy, I love you" July said lovingly in an impulsive tone as hot blush flusters on her cheeks, one could tell the fake relationship has gone wrong.
Damien clears his throat nervously over the phone thus she becomes anxious pressing the phone tightly on her eyes yearning for his response.
"See you tomorrow" Damien ends the call abruptly and July exhales sadly as she stares at her phone in depression.
