Chapter 28
Romans' POV
She was the water that quenches my fire, that was the truth.
I had another plan in mind but after hearing her heartfelt questions and my blunt hurting replies, I just couldn't stand it to see her cry. She's too pretty to cry... not when I still exist.
I didn't hesitate to claim her lips. I kissed Eliora deeply and passionately. I have always wished to kiss her again, to taste her sugar coated lips.
Eliora retaliated. We kissed each other deeply and slowly as our tongues clicked together, I grabbed her butts and pulled her closer to my chest.
It was just a kiss but I was craving for more of her. I caressed her soft butts with my tongue exploring her lips while she moaned softly with her eyes closed, she's indeed pretty.
I pressed in for more of her succulent kisses but she pushed me away, so hard.
I was shocked.
"What happened?" I thought in silence, staring at her.
[Eliora's POV]
I pushed him away.
I did it intentionally.
The kiss was getting sweeter than I had imagined. His lips were so soft and tasty, I almost lost control of my urge.
I had to stop because he was no longer mine. He belongs to someone else, not just anyone but my best friend.
I stared at him shyly, his eyes were still beautiful and made me frail. I had to become courageous, if not now then it's never.
"I'm sorry" I said politely.
"For what?" Romans asked anxiously.
"For kissing you, it was a mistake. I'm sorry" I said apologetically.
"A mistake? Didn't you want to also kiss me?" Romans asked anxiously.
"I never wanted it" I tried to avoid his gaze.
"You see..." I stared at him courageously.
"I can't do this... no, we can't do this. Jennifer trusted me and she's my closest friend, I can't do this to her." I explained sadly.
"What do you mean?" Romans asked as if annoyed because he sounded like one.
"I mean all these wishes of yours should come true with her and not me. I'm not your girlfriend and you should stop this. I'm not interested in being some third wheel" I said, paranoid.
"We made a deal and you should keep to your word!" Romans reminded angrily.
"But... I never imagined your wishes to be some insane things" I said annoyingly.
"Oh really?" Romans raised a brow looking astonished.
"Yes sir" I nodded.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you then" Romans sighed and walked back to his seat.
"Have your second wish been accomplished?" I asked nervously after a brief moment of silence.
"You can leave," Romans said with his eyes closed.
"What's the third one?" I made a comeback.
"Just leave" Romans said angrily.
"Alright sir" I bowed shortly and left his office.
Second wish has come true, I guess.
I cleared and finished what I had to do during the morning period before leaving to meet with Jennifer.
While riding to the mall, my phone rings and immediately I pick it up and put it on loudspeaker with my eyes on the road.
"Hello Liora!" a sharp voice came out from the phone and I smiled.
It was Rebecca.
"Hey sis. How are you?" I asked lovingly.
"Very good. How's Romans?" Rebecca asked.
"He's good" I shoot a straight answer.
"You've got some minutes to spare?" Rebecca asked politely.
"Yeah. Any issue?" I asked anxiously.
"Not really. The thing is Noah pushed our wedding forward, I'll really be needing your assistance for the preparation" Rebecca explained briefly.
"Oh. Congratulations again sis and I'm so sorry for being far away from your during your happy moment" I said sadly.
"It's alright but actually, I need your full assistance and secondly you will be my maid of honor" Rebecca informed happily.
God! Two maid of honor? What if I'm getting married too? Then there will be no honor, right? Gosh! What's going on here? I can't divide myself into three places at a time... And I can't decline any of their request.
"Urgh!" I sighed.
"Are you okay?" Rebecca asked.
"Becca, the thing is I'm currently busy with work and then a friend's marriage is coming up soon and..." I began nervously but was cut off.
"You can just ask Romans to give you some day off, it's my wedding pretty please" Rebecca suggested pitifully and halted.
"And you can't forsake me for your friend, right?" Rebecca asked anxiously.
"Alright, alright. I'll see if I can get permission from Romans. I'll be with you" I assured lovingly.
"I love you so much Liora" Rebecca said softly.
"Just focus and don't overwork yourself. I'll do whatever I can from here" I said.
"Okay, talk later," Rebecca said hastily.
"Why the hurry? How's mum, dad and Aiden?" I asked.
"Mum and I are about to go to the mall to check on the heels I ordered, dad left to go to the bakery with Aiden." Rebecca informed.
"They didn't forsake you over their work huh" I teased.
"Never. Family is everything" Rebecca laughs.
"Okay. Take care then and extend my regards" I smiled.
"Sure" Rebecca said and the call ended.
I sighed.
First off, how do I approach Romans when he's so mad at me? Secondly, how do I divide myself into thinking of how to make both marriages a success? Family is everything but Jennifer acted as my everything when they forgot me... Right? Urgh! I can't do this.
I curbed the car to the mall garage and stopped the engine.
Entering the mall, I quickly located the Bridals Parlour and I wasn't wrong. I saw Jennifer sitting on the couch, she smiled on seeing me.
"Eliora" Jennifer called out.
"Jenny" I walked closer and joined her on the couch.
"What's happening?" I asked anxiously.
"I have been checking out wedding gowns but none is to my liking" Jennifer frowns.
"Woah! You mean these gowns ain't your likes?" I asked instantly standing from the couch to check on the wedding gowns.
They were very beautiful.
"They are very beautiful," I exclaimed.
"You think?" Jennifer crossed her arms sadly.
"Try this one out, I'll be your mirror" I pointed at a wedding gown giving Jennifer an assuring smile.
"Okay" Jennifer nodded.
"Come here" Jennifer called on the mall attendant and they went into the dressing room with the gown, I smiled.
"How will my own day look and feel like?" at the thought of this, I smiled brightly.
Soon, Jennifer came out of the dressing room wearing the white sparkling gown. I stared at her speechless with my mouth wide open, the mall attendant rushed from behind her smiling.
"Right choice ma'am. This one is very amazing" the mall attendant nodded happily.
"What do you think?" Jennifer asked, staring at me anxiously.
"Babe, do you really want to hear it from me?" I asked rhetorically and Jennifer stared at me, confused.
"You really need to look at the mirror" I said slowly turning her to the mirror and her gaze widened.
"Woa," Jennifer exclaimed.
"You're so pretty, Romans will definitely remain dauntlessly speechless when he sees you" I assured nodding my head.
"It's nice Eliora. Your choice is the best" Jennifer smiled happily.
"Nope. Anything will look good on you, you're just so beautiful" I complimented and Jennifer's cheeks turned red.
"Thank you bitch" Jennifer blushed and faced the mirror again.
"We're taking this one," I told the mall attendant confidently.
"Okay ma'am. I'll quickly input it on the tab" the mall attendant said courteously and left.
Romans POV
I was only giving her what she desired and now I was wrong... not only wrong but insane.
Ladies are so confusing, you can never understand them.
I sighed sadly with my eyes on the television, the business news was ongoing but I didn't pay attention to it.
I gently rubbed my forehead thinking rapidly when I heard light footsteps coming from the kitchen.
"It's your wedding day soon, you should be happy" Jane paused.
"Why are you sad?" Jane added anxiously.
"Nothing" I said.
"Oh really. You can tell me anything" Jane said softly as she sit beside me on the armchair.
"It's actually nothing" I forced a smile out.
"If you say so. Where's sister Jenny? I haven't seen her since I returned.." Jane asked politely.
"She left for shipping, she will be back soon" I figured.
"Cool, I missed again. Why aren't you busy? I mean you should be checking out for nice suits and wrist watches for the wedding?" Jane playfully hit my chest and I laughed slightly.
"There's no need for all that. Just one call and all that will be in place" I assured boastfully and Jane smiled.
"I trust you bro. Jenny is really lucky to have won my brother's heart" Jane said confidently.
"You're kidding" I smiled.
"No kidding. It isn't easy to win over a billionaire, a handsome billionaire for that" Jane said confidently and I couldn't stop laughing, she continued.
"Do you know how many of my course mates ask for your contact and autograph each day? She's lucky" Jane winks and I smirked.
"You're so funny Jane. Remember Jennifer is also from a very rich background" I reminded lovingly.
"Yeah but she's not up to your thumb" Jane said boastfully and I laughed loudly.
"Who's making my hubby laugh up till this time?" a soft voice comes from the passage and we turn to the exit.
It was Jennifer. She returned with shopping bags in her arms.
"Babe," I smiled.
"Aunty Jenny" Jane quickly stood from the armchair and gave Jennifer a quick embrace.
"How are you?" Jennifer asked.
"I'm good," Jane nodded.
"Let me drop this off for you" Jane took the shopping bags from Jennifer and left into the elevator. I just continued smiling until Jennifer sat beside me.
"Hubby" Jennifer calls softly.
"How was your day?" I asked lovingly.
"Missed you," Jennifer smiled.
"Don't worry. You will soon be mine... forever" I assured with a cute smile.
"I really can't wait babe," Jennifer said happily.
"How was your day?" Jennifer asked.
"If not busy with business meetings, then what?" I teased and she laughed slightly.
"Alright but hope you didn't skip breakfast?" Jennifer asks, concerned.
"I did. Some person's made me lose my appetite" I informed.
"Ok. Come to the dining, I will prepare something for you" Jennifer said lovingly.
"It's almost 10:00pm. babe" I reminded her because I normally don't eat once it's 10:00pm.
"I'll be real quick," Jennifer insisted.
"Sure but make sure it's just fruits," I suggested.
"Okay" Jennifer nodded and we walked out of the living room, she headed for the kitchen while I left for the dining room.
Eliora's POV
I had a headache, back ache, eye ache, heart ache... body ache, the aches were just everywhere.
As soon as I entered my apartment, I fell flat on my bed muttering only God knows what.
I was so tired and confused and anxious, only a few will understand how I was feeling.
My sister was getting married, my best friend was getting married to my Ex- boyfriend and I'll be the maid of honor, I almost had sex with my Ex- boyfriend, I'll have to face the man I just annoyed for some favors when I'm yet to fulfill the deal I last made... Tell me, at this point how do you think I feel?
I didn't overthink the issues at hand, I just slept off.
The next day, I sluggishly entered the bathroom to brush, bathe and do the needful.
I was feeling so tired on a Wednesday morning when Wednesdays are my best days of the week.
I sat on the toilet to urinate when something else started coming out, it was blood.
What the hell! I thought my period was going to come during the weekends? Why this and why now?
Only few will know those feelings when you're expecting your menstruation later than early.
I sighed and quickly made my way to shower... I bathed in hot water though.
I walked into the passage in a black gown heading to my office, it wasn't too tight and I wasn't looking pretty.
During my period days, I always look unkempt, ugly and tired but since I'm not at home I was trying so hard to look all beautiful and elegant but it isn't working.
My stomach was hurting me and I wasn't feeling safer when sitting.
Then I remembered the promise I made with Rebecca thus I changed route heading to the Chief Executive Officer's office.
"Come in" Paige said softly as I smiled and walked into Romans office.
His office was empty and he wasn't looking happy, maybe I had come at the wrong time.
"Good morning sir" I said courteously.
"What do you want?" Romans asked.
Sharply. Hitting the hammer on the nail with no hesitation.
"I.. Sir, my sister will be getting married soon so I came to ask for some day off to assist her during these times" I stuttered.
"Days off? I think I'll be needing some days off too because of my marriage" Romans snorted and I lifted my gaze at him in astonishment.
"Sir?" I ask, confused.
"I'm giving you no day off" Romans said vividly.
"Why sir? Don't I deserve it? It's Rebecca's wedding..." I said pitifully.
"No vacation for you Miss. Eliora" Romans didn't back off on his word.
"Alright" with my stomach biting me from the inside and slight headache, I didn't have the strength to banter with him which made me bow and turn around to leave his office.
"Hold on" Romans stopped me.
"Yes?" I slowly turned around while he approached me.
"There's stain on your dress." Romans said certainly and I stared at him in shock.
What the hell? How did he see through my black dress? Gosh! This was another level of disgrace to me. How do I answer him?
