Chapter 15
Diana sits comfortably on the dining room chair in Rose's mansion, she smoothly writes down some words in a small diary happily.
"Which dessert does Damien love?" Diana asks Rose anxiously.
"Red velvet cake" Rose said bluntly.
"Do you know the eatery he orders it from?" Diana asks anxiously with a weird stare.
"No eatery, specially made by July" Rose squeals sarcastically, Diana roll her eyes in annoyance.
"What else?" Rose asks mockingly.
"Nothing!" Diana said angrily and leaves the dining room with her dairy.
An aged mature man relaxes at the passengers' seat in the riding cab as his phone rings loudly, his personal assistant who sits at the front seat notifies and sends the phone to him courteously.
"Hello"
"Oh! Mr. Thompson"
"Yes, it's still available"
"Sure"
"I will"
"Take care"
The man hangs up the call smiling sheepishly.
"Sir, anything?" his personal assistant asks anxiously in a courteous tone.
"Prepare the estate at Tally's ave, Mr. Thompson and his family are returning soon" the man commands excitedly and his personal assistant nods his head cowardly.
After months of waiting and yearning for his call Damien finally calls. July dressed in her favorite black polo and a blue mini short jean with a white canvas, as the designated driver parks at the garage. July rushes out of the car and runs off like a kid approaching the wide entrance.
"Damien!" July squeals excitedly in the hall way with her hands spread out for an embrace but Damien stands at a spot stretching out his hand to give her a large brown envelope before she could get closer to him, July pauses awkwardly on getting closer as she takes the large envelope from him with an anxious stare.
She gradually pulls out the white A4 paper which was inside the brown envelope and her eyes fall on the headline.
"Contract Termination" July staggers backward sadly facing Damien with an anxious and astonish glare, Damien clears his throat softly.
"July Thompson the relationship contract I signed up for has come to an end" Damien pauses with a stern facial expression.
"Please insert your signature and you will be free from bondage" Damien added sarcastically.
"No, it's not yet two (2) years and ... you haven't..." July stutters nervously and falls silent staring at Damien anxiously like a dying cat.
"Sorry July, I have seen my real bride" Damien informs bluntly.
"After all these were part of the contract, it's time to go find your true love" Damien said apathetically.
"I don't want to end this"
"Why do I feel you are lying to me?" July asks impulsively while walking closer to Damien, he steps backward gradually.
"Damien, it's not up to the year I signed up for" July said vividly.
"And I have found my fiancée, you can leave the limelight now" Damien snorts annoyingly.
"Please Dammy, don't push me away" July pleas sadly as tears roll down from her eyes to her cheek, she sniffles in pain.
"July, please sign" Damien reminds nervously.
"So all this while you didn't call me was because..."July tries to speak but Damien interrupts her arrogantly.
"Yes" Damien scoffs.
"I have been having a good time with me fiancée, it's none of your business" Damien informs angrily.
July walks angrily to the table closer to her and places the paper on it, she takes out her pen and signs radically on the paper.
"Goodbye July" Damien said politely while taking the contract envelope from July.
"Damien..." July mutters sadly in a low tone.
"It's time to leave Ma" the guards' informs July rudely, she turns to look at Damien but he arrogantly walks into the elevator.
"Sure" July nods her head sadly as she walks sluggishly out of the building with the guards.
The official breakup between July and Damien left a deep scar in July's heart. July loses concentration during working hours, loses appetite and loses the zeal and inspiration on writing her novel.
"July this was all a contract. He was only acting according to the script" Rachael tries to advise July into accepting the present situation and move on.
"He didn't care about me, he didn't console me, he didn't even stare at my eyes ... he wasn't kind to me at all" July panics critically sniffling sadly.
"He ended everything in a blink of an eye, where is his heart or were they made of stones not to fall in love?" July asks anxiously in a sarcastic paranoid tone.
"Julie" Rachael calls lovingly.
"I advise you find your own 'real partner' and move on" Rachael pauses.
"He never loved you and will not love you now" Rachael informs bluntly.
"What do I do now?"
"Where do I start from?" July asks hopelessly with a pitiful stare.
"Why are you here?" Rachael asks authoritatively.
"To become a successful author and own the best famous pet clinic" July replies impatiently.
"Good! Then focus on that" Rachael said vividly staring deeply into July's eyes, July nods her head gradually.
Bing! July's phone beeps to a notify her of the latest news, July unlocks her phone slyly.
"Finally found my missing rib – Posted by Dam. With fiancée: in a fundraisers event" July sadly read the update on Instagram staring at the couple picture of Damien and Diana, she sighs annoyingly.
"You bit..." July types angrily on the comment box but Rachael hold her hand softly.
"Don't vent your anger on trivia things and don't let it overwhelm you" Rachael said lovingly in a low tone.
"Arg!" July hits her phone angrily on the table facing Rachael sadly.
"I'm with you"
"My dreams are your dreams, vice versa" Rachael encourages July with a warm smile.
"Thanks Rach" July smiles sadly.
The fundraising ceremony is in full swing, beautiful and lovely couples sit comfortably on the chairs listening to the auctioneer.
"The next in line is this last edition vase imported from Germany" the auctioneer informs loudly lifting the vase on the air for everyone to have a clear picture of it.
"The starting price is hundred thousand dollars" the auctioneer announces confidently as everyone starts calling out high prices countering the other.
"Babe" Diana whispers softly on Damien's ear and he faces her anxiously.
"What is it?" he asks slyly.
"I posted our pictures on instagram and the likes are multiplying" Diana said happily, Damien rolls his eyes annoyingly.
"Why did you post them?" Damien asks vividly and Diana falls silent.
"Seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars going" the auctioneer announces loudly making Damien to face the platform while raising his slate with the number "7" written on it.
"One million dollars" Damien said courageously and everyone turns to him muttering in astonishment between each other, Damien leaves the event angrily while Diana trail fearfully from behind.
"One million dollars wins the vase!" the auctioneer announces happily.
July, move on? That words sucks! July drinks the alcohol impatiently like a drunkard while Michael sits across her watching sadly.
"I'm a third wheel to you right?"
"You can use me whenever you get dumped" Michael snorts sadly.
"Third wheel...?" July laughs loudly hitting the small glass cup harder on the table.
"We ... we are both losers" July laughs hardly and mockingly, Michael sighs.
"Who made you this useless?"
"I'm here for you, why do you choose to suffer?" Michael asks impulsively staring deeply into her eyes in anxiety.
"Thanks Michael ... for the drink" July staggers roughly while standing up from the seat.
"Where are you going to?" Michael asks anxiously as he stands up impatiently.
"I... I'm going to meet him" July snorts impulsively due to excessive intake of alcohol.
"Meet who?" Michael asks annoyingly.
"Damien" July stumbles roughly and falls on the seat hardly.
