Chapter 4

Single Daddy

Emma's POV

I said, remember I said I wasn't going to find interest in her family but maybe I was wrong because I hadn't met men before.

I walked out of the bedroom to find Aries and the man he calls Dad arguing, I wanted to speak but turned dumb immediately the man turned to me.

"Holy father!" I muttered in a low tone shocked by the adult male figure in front of me.

I don't know his name but he's Aries father, five to six feet tall that I almost looked like a young teenager in his eyes, he has beautiful pairs of ocean blue eyes and I guess that's where Aries stole it from, his lips were moderate and matte dull red, his hair was blonde and beautiful resting at one side of his ear, he could be a mistake to be a Korean; he has a slate thick arched eyebrows and freaking long lashes, he had little or no hair on his face, I had to admit the fact that he's so handsome just like these famous models. He had a domineering aura that made me dumbfounded, his eyes pierced into mine deeply.

When my fourth sense returned and I realized my awe position, I quickly blinked my eyes shyly.

"Greeting... Sir?" the veins on my throat were tightened as I spoke overly courteously.

"Ms. Emma, meet my dad. Mr. Ashford Emerson Dakota" Aries introduced us lovingly holding a gaze full of admiration, he wanted to walk closer to me but his father immediately shunned him by calling his name authoritatively.

"Ms. Emma, kindly leave this house" he commanded arrogantly and I wondered if being arrogant runs in their blood.

"Sorry to offend you Mrs. Ashford, but I was brought in by Mrs. Dakota thus I can't leave without her permission" I spoke courageously like the renowned businesswoman that I was.

"He is my son and I get to decide whatever concerns his welfare." He recoiled exhaling deeply.

"Are you leaving before I call the guards?" He shot me an annoying quick stare.

"Dad, can you please allow Ms. Emma to be with me before Aunt Su returns? After all, you also need to fire her in your company" Aries tries to bargain with his father in a polite tone, he looks kinda scared of his biological father.

"My company? Yext company doesn't need a maid." He informed in anger tucking his hand back into his trousers.

"Yext company?" then it dawned on me who I'm with and what I've taken upon myself.

Yext company was one of the top software companies in Chelsea City, New York. I have heard of the company and how ladies drool over the CEO but I didn't imagine him to be a freaking hot divorced handsome man.

"She isn't a maid Dad. Grandma made her the new food manager, she'll be supplying daily meals to the workers and including to you" Aries explained the whole deal to his father, and Mr. Ashford's facial expression became very scary and intimidating.

"I think I have to settle some scores with her" he shot me another quick angry stare before walking out of the passage, I exhaled heavily in relief.

"I'm sorry Ms. Emma. Did he startle you?" Aries walked closer to me.

"Your father is so scary," I said politely not the anger him as it seemed his family was ruled by anger and arrogance.

"Since my mum left us, my Dad has been this way. Even I at times can't approach him. He overworks himself and hardly visits me, I have only Grandma to hold onto," Aries narrated his childhood and his father's drastic change of behavior to me, and my mood saddened.

I felt pity for Aries trying to get a glimpse vision of how he had managed without his parents beside him, his story kinda felt like mine.

"But that's the past. My mum died early last year which provoked my dad even worse that he stopped paying attention to me and never visits me, I'm quite surprised to see him here" Aries's voice became so weak and full of sadness, I smiled softly.

"Though a lot has happened and she's no more. I want you to remember that your mother loves you and she's watching you down from heaven" I said as sweetly as I could to console him but Aries shrugged off my hand just as he did to his grandma.

"I don't need your sympathy. Go prepare supper for me." He snorted and walked down the passage heading to his room while I watched him leave shaking my head in disbelief.

"What an attitude," I smirked entering my room to change up and start my first task as a maid.
