Chapter 5
Emma's POV
The next morning, I prepared breakfast for Aries and also added some to his lunch pack.
While he ate, I cleared off the dusty path closer to the dining and kitchen axis.
"Ms. Emma, are you driving me to school?" I had already tied a napkin around his neck to prevent him from spilling particles on his white uniform, he bit the toasted bread softly.
"Yes I'm, got a problem?" I raised an anxious brow with my gaze away from the wall I was cleaning.
"I will use my helmet to prevent any accident then." He snorted annoyingly and I laughed off kinda annoyed but amazed.
"You don't need to, I can drive" I assured him with a short nod.
"Let's go, I'm done" he stands from the seat heading to the exit.
"I should at least have my bath" I suggested politely.
"I'm almost late." With this, he walked out of the passage. I hurriedly took his lunch pack and bag and followed him from behind.
I professionally drive the Lamborghini car around the very wide circular waterfall in Aries school. The school is like a cathedral for worship with about seven to eight-story buildings, as I parked the car other expensive rides parked behind us and around the waterfall and rich children started coming out of the cars, and entering the glamorous school.
"Is this an elementary school?" I asked in astonishment popping my head to check the other side of the building.
"Don't embarrass me" He snorted and alighted from the car while I imitated him as if annoyed.
"I close by 2 pm, don't keep me waiting." He said his last word arrogantly and left with his bag and lunch pack into the school, I watched him through the window for a while.
Was he hostile because he was afraid of losing someone close again? I wondered in silence still staring at his back.
The school was filled with chatter and laughter from children and mothers, the mothers especially debated about their expensive dresses and new rides; I couldn't help but wonder if this school was full of competition.
"Pi. Pi." A loud horn came from behind and I popped my head out from the window in curiosity.
"Move along. I want to move out" the lady scoffed annoyingly with a loud voice.
"You could just add the word please" I rolled my eyes in a devasted manner as I started the engine.
Our family bakery was filled with life and bustling with activities. The patrons were on the queue and table discussing happily and waiting patiently.
I walked into the bakery and caught sight of Grandma Tan giving Molly a quick tutor on her new recipe, I approached them with a smile on my face.
"Emma!"
"Ms. Emma."
Molly and Grandma Tan gave me a quick embrace with smiles on their faces.
"Where have you been?" Molly's eyes were filled with concern but it's my private life and I can't spill immediately.
"I've been around the area. Grandma wants me to find a good man" I teased and they both laughed at the one that fits.
"Oh! Then better bring the best out of all" Molly encouraged me with a mischievous wink while I smiled.
"Yes, ma." I place my hand on my head in the form of a salute, they laugh again.
"I'll leave you both then" Molly nodded and left into the passage.
"How are you coping?" Grandma and I asked in unison and laughed.
"I'm fine dear, just missing your presence in the bakery" Grandma struggled to speak in a low soft tone.
"I'll try visiting often grandma, you know it's my first week in this job" I reminded politely.
"It's alright. Why are you here?" Grandma havens a sigh of relief.
"I need some pack of fried rice and an exclusive spaghetti pack for Yext company," I informed confidently.
"I'll let them start your orders then," Grandma assured me as we walked towards the staff.
"I'll specially prepare the spaghetti pack, they can do with the fried rice," I said briefly and Grandma nodded.
"How many packs of fried rice?" Grandma asked anxiously.
"Forty packs," I said and left Grandma with the staff heading to my baking room.
Yext company was a mini skyscraper building with a glassy transparent body, it had the business logo on it boldly designed. I passed the first security check and then the second digital pass where I used the identification card Mrs. Dakota gave to me to gain access.
I proceeded to the sixth floor using the elevator, my hands were holding two big bags containing food and the bag had our business logo on it. I was dressed in a blouse and ponytail hairstyle, I had no makeup on my face.
"Meal is here!" a young male worker announced to everyone immediately he saw me, they all had an identification card across their neck with the help of a red tag.
The staff of Yext who works under the CEO directly rushed to take their orders from me.
"Settle down," their head said to them politely and they sat down on the available long white bench.
I begin placing the meal on the table while they take one each with a cup of cappuccino coffee.
"Next time, can we order what we would love to eat?" a female staff asked rhetorically.
"That's next time, for now, make do with what's available." The head snorted and they fell silent eating delicately.
"Where's your CEO's office?" I asked courteously and the head pointed, I nodded and left with a small bag while they continued eating and discussing.
After a soft knock, I walked into Mr. Ashford's office looking timid.
"What are you doing here?" He asked rather too annoying.
"I'm here with your lunch sir," I said overly courteously placing the lunch pack of spaghetti and boiled egg with cutleries beside it.
"Did I employ you?" He asked in anger and I shivered in shock.
"I'm sorry sir... But.. but your mother wants me to do this.." I stammered frantically.
"Get out of my office, and before I return home, you're out of my son's residence." He stared at me in anger as he spoke.
"Sir, did I do something wrong?" I asked sadly, with curiosity written all over my face as my eyes itched a little as a sign of tears swelling up.
"Yes," he gave me a sharp response.
"What?" I raised an anxious brow, looking scared.
"For accepting this insane deal of my mother without the child's father's consent, it's a huge wrong," he said apathetically with his angry gaze fixed on mine, I remained speechless.
