Chapter 21

Happy Days

"Greetings ladies and gents" her eyes rolled around the audience like one who is searching for somebody or something. She blinked her eyes shortly when her result ended up futile.

"Thank you so much for creating time to attend our first ever graduation. It means so much for us" she bowed in respect and the hall roared with applause.

"Being parents is not easy and being a child is another thing. Growing up, my parents were hooked up with work, work and work. I totally understand them because they needed that fund for my fees but I tried not to fail as their child" she paused.

"Yes, I need their care and attention but at the same time I also have to do my own conjugal duty as their child. I read my book and also yearn for the care" she sighed shortly with tears gathering around her eyelids.

"But at the same time, I will advise our parents to create time for us. We are human too and are kids, we deserve love. At least on weekend dates" the hall was so quiet that the sound of a fallen needle could be heard.

"At the end, what motivates us is the love from our parents. Please, mum and dad..." by this time, she locked gaze with her father and almost gasped in shock.

"Have time with us so we won't end up loving the other person as parents, it could be our maids" and her gaze landed at Emerald, they exchanged warm smiles before swaying back to her father who seemed not to be in the place he was earlier.

"Dad.." the microphone was far from her mouth as she muttered sadly.

"Finally, it's our graduation. We will be advancing to the next level, all we want as a child is your care and mental support. Good luck to my fellow mates in future!`` She cheered in an exciting tone and immediately everyone rose from their seats, clapping and cheering happily.

A mini party was created in honor of Christine's first graduation and yet, Blake was absent. Surprisingly, Christine showed no care since she had her maid and her few friends at the party.

Deborah admired herself through the mirror while sitting on the comfortable seat, she was wearing a long beautiful white gown and a veil yet to be covered on her face. The make-up artist has already applied warm make-up on her face and also styled her dazzling silver hair. She looked enchanting.

Later, she took her phone from the table wearing a sad frown.

"Where is she?" she muttered sadly as she glanced through the text messages that she had sent to Emerald concerning her wedding.

It's been a week yet Emerald didn't show up during the recess. Now is the occasion and she's nowhere to be found.

Emerald's mother, Felicia walked closer to her and patted her shoulder softly with a bright smile on her face.

"Cheer up, darling. I know Emerald also wishes to be here but maybe her work isn't giving her any spare time" Felicia encouraged her with a coo.

She nodded trying to improve her mood.

"I totally understand her, as long as you are here. I appreciate" she stroked Felicia's hand on her shoulder softly.

"What about your parents? I don't seem to see them around?" Felicia's eyes begin to roll around the room.

It was a hotel room booked specially for her wedding and by the look of it, the interior is extravagant and properly equipped.

"They just called that they are about to leave the airport" Deborah's personal assistant who dedicated her time for this wedding informed with her eyes fixed on the large ipad in her hand.

"Very good. Very good" she walked to the front of Deborah wearing a bright smile, Deborah chucked shyly.

"Look at you, you look so beautiful" she laughed at her cheerfulness and Deborah couldn't help but blush.

Soon, the door knob twisted twice and Felicia stood upright away from Deborah.

"I think it's time" she figured.

Emerald entered into the room dazzling hot, their mouth and eyes were wide open in shock. Aside from the surprise attendance, her rare beauty caught them off guard.

"You came," Deborah curled her lips, wearing a relaxed smile.

"If I don't show up, who will?" she winked mischievously as she walked closer to them.

"Mum, you are here" she gave her mother who's still shocked, a quick embrace.

"You look so beautiful as the bride, are you also getting married today?" Felicia teased, her eyes sparkled with love.

"You can say that again" she focused her gaze back to her friend.

"Hey babe, I know words can't serve as an apology right now but I'm truly sorry" she begins apologetically while Deborah fringes with sadness.

She could possibly ruin her make-up to prove to Emerald how bad she felt when her presence wasn't with her during her marriage preparation.

"After my boss' daughter's graduation, I was loaded with work and activities. And you know he just divorced his wife" she reminded with fate in order to prove her innocence at all cost, Felicia and Deborah smirked as if this part was planned.

"What?" she rolled her eyes anxiously from her mother back to her suspicious looking friend.

"Nothing. Since it's like this, you just need to be your boss's wife so you won't have to worry over those" Deborah scorned her jokingly and she playfully slapped her shoulder.

"No one should ever hear that" unwarranted blush flustered on her clear cheeks as she said nervously, making her hormones speak faster than her words.

"It's time to call in the bride, Miss. Deborah and your parents are also here" her personal assistant, Agatha informed her happily as if she is the one doing the wedding.

Deborah chin up and take a last look at the mirror as Emerald assisted her in standing from the seat with my mother.

"Are you ready, gurl?" she questioned in a sassy tone with her eyebrows raised, she looked ridiculous.

"Damn bitch, I'm hell ready" Deborah said enthusiastically, she really can't wait to get married.
